Lead Designer: Abin
Brand Heritage /
A fusion of imperial authority and literati elegance, this vessel reimagines the Qing Emperor’s dragon robe as a three-dimensional artifact. Commissioned by Palace Culture under The Palace Museum Press, it transforms archival research into tactile artistry, where Abin’s design philosophy bridges courtly grandeur and scholarly refinement.
Dragon Robe Motifs: Twelve imperial symbols (日、月、星辰、山、龙等) from the Qing Emperor’s ceremonial attire are recontextualized as porcelain浮雕, their gold threads translated into釉里红iron oxide gradients.
Guangxu Aesthetic: The folding fan backdrop replicates Emperor Guangxu’s cobalt-blue ground porcelain with powdered gold dragon patterns, evoking courtly opulence in motion.
Technical Mastery /
Underglaze Alchemy: Achieving precise控制 of copper-red釉里红发色 through还原焰kiln calibration, mirroring the original silk robe’s chromatic hierarchy.
Fan Mechanics: Hidden titanium alloy hinges allow seamless transformation, engineered to withstand 10,000+开合cycles without glaze cracking.
Cultural Narrative /
Robes to Vessels: The act of unfolding mirrors imperial robing ceremonies, transforming users into ritual participants. Each opening reenacts the "dressing of celestial authority."
Archival Resonance: Fan panel patterns cross-reference
